Ken was introduced by PDG Ian Dyball. Ken is a member of the Rotary Club of Tamworth and was District Governor 2008-2009 when the Rotary theme for the year was “Make Dreams Real”.

When applying for grants, sustainability of the project is important.
Grant types:
 District grants – fund smaller, short term actiivities. Go to the District website and download pdfs for how to apply for a district grant. All district grant applications have to be submitted by 1st October – between $500-$4000 grant for district.
 Global grants are large international activities – must be sustainable, measureable outcomes in one or more of six areas of focus.
 Packaged grants – min. $30,000 are funded jointly by Rotary and a strategic international partner. Can only apply for these grants online.
 Scholarships – support graduate studies in an area of focus.
The areas of focus are:
 Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution
 Disease Prevention and Treatment
 Water and Sanitation
 Maternal and Child Health
 Basic Education and Literacy
 Economic and Community Development
