President David welcomed members and guests to our meeting.

He gave a special toast to member Susie Ploder for all the work she does for our Club, particular in the area of fundraising. Well done Susie.

He welcomed Peter and Fiona Tinney to their first meeting as members.  Peter will also give his new member talk tonight which we look forward to.


New member Tanja and Chris are currently in Queensland then go back to Uganda in February.  They will hopefully be able to attend a couple of meetings before they go.

Reminder that the District 9650 Conference will be held in Armidale from 9 – 11 March 2018.

Neil Hanington called for more volunteers to assist with the Australia Day events.  Many members offered their assistance.

Kevin Sharp gave an overview of where the Golf Committee was up to with the organisation of the Golf Day.  Banners have now been put up.  Committee Members have been collecting prizes etc from the sponsors.  He advised that the first tee off was at .7.15am with the second at 12 noon.  The presentation will commence at 5.00pm.

Murray Difford advised that the Battery Muster is going well with another 12 batteries dropped off to them at the Hub last Saturday.  The Committee will continue to go to various markets advertising that our Club collects batteries.

The proposed Interact Club has a meeting at the YMCA at 6.30pm on Wednesday to look at the formation of the Club.  Hoping to have representatives from our Club, Taree on Manning and Taree North Rotary Clubs attend on the night.

Next round of the Public Speaking Contest will be held on 7 February 2018.

Murray advised that he has spoken to representatives of the Rural Health Mens Caravan who will in or area on 9 – 10 April 2018.  He is look to our Club to host and to billet the representatives.  More information to come.
