President Ian opened the meeting with a welcome to our visitors and then a toast to Rotary International, Australia and the Queen of Australia.
President then welcomed our guests Ruth Tingle and Heather Hole to our meeting.
President Ian proposed a toast to PP David Denning for his ongoing support throughout the year and then proposed a second toast to Ruth and Heather for bringing Ross and Brian to our meeting.
A big thank you was given to all those who assisted with the canteen yesterday. A good day was had by all and $631.10 was raised on the day less expenses. PP David then addressed the club with a request for volunteers for next Sunday as additional games have been scheduled.
PP Kevin Sharp then reminded members that a Time Capsule is located at Taree TAFE and is to be opened in the future. This was really exciting as previously it was thought to be in other locations. A letter will be forwarded to the new Rotary Board advising them of the location and capsule details.
President Ian then gave an outline of the extensive program that had been undertaken over the last twelve months including our many guest speakers, our membership evenings, our club assemblies, our social evenings, our international activities Group Study Exchange and reciprocal Okayama/Taree visits by Mitchell Brown and Natsuko Misawi. This, against a backdrop of photos taken throughout the year. Also our enduring legacy of the photo montage installed at Rotary Park last year. Overall the year was very busy and very varied, and it was a privilege and a great honour to serve as your President for 2018/19 with the Rotary International theme 'Be The Inspiration’.
Following the review Ian thanked Bianca Adimari for her contribution to our club and wished her well in her new career in the big smoke. Bianca with be missed by us all.
In closing Ian advised members of the passing of Sandi Outtrim’s mother on Thursday morning and we extended our thoughts to Sandi at this time.
The meeting was then closed with the 4 Way Test.
