Past President Murray welcomed members and PDG Maurie Stack.
President David and Sandi together with President Elect Ian and Dianne are at present at Kokoda building a new nurses quarters at Kokoda Hospital from shipping containers. Looking forward to pictures!
Noted that Public speaking will be held in Gloucester November 2, nominations from clubs from Gloucester, Forster Old Bar, Wingham and Taree will be speaking. Also Club has been invited to cater at Quarry B B Q 21 October, volunteers needed.
The Battery Muster is now on track. Club members also assisted with gates at show.
Mark Drury reported that members assisted with Old Bar Beach Festival parking but needed more volunteers, as four were not sufficient. Noted that volunteers for Show Gates were kept busy, but also difficult to obtain . PP Murray thanked those who participated and Sgt Arm fined those present who didn’t participate.
Combined Service Clubs Dinner was judged to be a success with funds raised for entertainment stage on Q E Park.
PDG Maurie Stack reported on progress of Million Dollar Project and noted that a Million Dollar Dinner will be held in Port Macquarie on 18 November, more details to follow.
Unfortunately, Guest Speaker Len Keogh who was to speak on Youth in Search was not available.
Alan Small reported on visit by members of Okayama Chuo Rotary Club who attended 80 th Anniversary Dinner and were hosted by members of Club. Alan regards this as a unique long term relationship and his comments were endorsed by Bruce Moy. Members enjoyed their entertainment at Anniversary Dinner. PERSONAL NOTE. Director Neil Hannington is recovering well from Knee surgery and expects to return to Rotary in a couple of weeks when he is allowed to drive.
