Last Sunday I attended the District 9650 assembly at Port Macquarie for incoming board members along most of our board for 2018/2019.

At Port Macquarie, our District 9650 DG Bob opened the Assembly with a brief message and then introduced our DGE Lorraine Coffey and her partner Dennis Chellingsworth.
Lorraine then introduced her team for the year and shared her recent experience with our new RI President Barry Rassin. His theme for 2018/2019 being:
‘Be The Inspiration’.
The emphasis this year will be on developing and engaging the younger members of our communities through Interact and Roteract. The aim being to build up our younger members into fully fledged Rotarians.
Dennis also shared his partner’s project - research into MS through Australian Rotary Health. This project will be funded through a raffle to be conducted throughout the year with the first prize being a portrait by a well known Armidale artist. More on this later in the year.
We then attended a series of breakaway sessions from Foundation, Public Relations, Membership, Secretaries, Treasurers, Vocational, Community Service, Youth, International and District Resource Network, and Future Leaders. These sessions were very productive and informative and gave an opportunity to provide an outline of our responsibilities and to bring us up to date with recent changes. Also a means to share our own experiences with other club members.
On the day we were also joined by our good friends - PP Laurie Easter and Barry Levick from Forster Old Bar Club. This was a good opportunity to have a long chat on the way over and on the way back and share our plans and aspirations for next year.
Our Secretary Wayne provided the transport to and from Port Macquarie in his bus this was very much appreciated by all passengers.
Many thanks to our members for attending and a special thank you to Wayne for providing our transport on the day.
Overall it was a very informative and useful day with our Rotary leadership team.
We came home inspired for the coming year.
May we BE THE INSPIRATION in 2018/2019.
