Sargeant at Arms Bruce Moy called the Meeting to order, and proposed a toast to Rotary International, the Queen and people of Australia.
President Ross thanked Bruce, welcomed everyone, proposed a toast to Matt Anlezark new member and acknowledged Shahriah Haque for his speech last week. Mrs Elva Withers, widow of late club member Charles Withers, passed away last Saturday. We wish their family our condolences on their loss.
Treasurer Ian reported that Dr Grace’s PPE project had raised $3,290 at this stage. Dr Grace commented that the first orders for locally-made PPE items have been placed. It is her plan to place monthly orders in the Philippines. It was suggested that other clubs be approached to support this cause.

Secretary Fiona Tinney introduced and led our Ideas Forum with a range of speakers presenting some great ideas, while members responded, asked questions and began developing ideas. It was explained that a survey is going out which will help to bring everyone’s thoughts together on the range of ideas…
Ian Woollard mentioned that Rotary Park needs tidying up.
President Ross acknowledged and thanked Fiona for leading this activity.
Sargeant at Arms Bruce conducted a fines session – Peter T received two fines for the state of the world, David F for a joke in German, President Ross for a permanently busy Home phone, Fiona Tinney because tonight’s Forum was so good. Mitchell Brown was congratulated for being awarded his AMusA. David Denning had a cross-fine for Sargeant Bruce for disturbing the meeting ambience.

Bruce Moy mentioned last week that on Monday nights 11th & 18th May we are going to hear from some of our Rotary members on the topic: “If you had chosen a different career to that which you have followed, what would that have been and why” Each week Bruce Moy will approach different club members to talk. We are planning for three to four speakers per meeting.
