President Ross welcomed everyone and offered a Toast to Neil Hanington for his great stories last week about his foray into Horse racing. President Ross also provided an outline on the club program for the next few weeks. He reminded us of the African Safari Night 18 November $30 per head with profit going to RAWCS (Rotary Australia World Community Service).
Sandi Outtrim has sent our good wishes to students completing year 12 exams, and a card to Harvey Else.
President Ross added that Neil Taylor was improving after his recent fall.
Susie Ploder reminded us about the Bunnings BBQ on Sunday 27th October.
David Denning confirmed the program for the rest of the year. Our Christmas break will be from the 2nd week of December, returning 13th January 2020. Bruce Moy delivered us a fines session. That was followed by a DVD “From Hidden Valleys” about the Manning River, produced by Jonathon Billingham and Post-production by Tom Bishop.
CLUB ASSEMBLY was a ranging discussion around matters facing the Club and community for example our fundraising efforts at the Football Canteen and the Community Australia Day celebrations in Taree into the future since Midcoast Council will no longer be making the event arrangements. A suggestion was made that Rotary Clubs in Taree might lead that activity and that it was important to have the involvement of the indigenous community.
